Data deletion

Deleting your data

There is no account to close, because there is no account. Everything Writeoff holds is on your own phone, and deleting it is done from the app.

From inside the app

  1. Open Writeoff and go to the Dashboard tab.
  2. Tap your initials in the top-right corner to open your Profile.
  3. Scroll to Your data. If you may need these records for a tax return, tap Export everything first and send the files somewhere safe.
  4. Tap Delete everything and confirm.

This removes every shift, mile, earning, expense and receipt photograph from the device, along with any exported copies still in the app's cache. Nothing is stored anywhere else, so there is nothing to restore from and no way to undo it.

By uninstalling

Uninstalling Writeoff removes all of its data from your phone as well. Automatic backup is switched off, so no copy is left behind in Google Drive.

What is retained afterwards

Nothing. Writeoff operates no server and holds no copy of your records, so once they are deleted from your device there is nothing left for the developer to retain, restore or hand over.

If you cannot reach the app

A phone that is lost, broken or wiped takes the records with it — there is no copy anywhere to request the deletion of. If you have a question about this, add your contact address.
